Job Description

OFS are looking for a Materials Manager for a project in Brazil, due to start on 1st June 2018 for approximately 5 months. Candidate must be eligible to work in Brazil and an ability to speak Portuguese is an advantage.

This will not be a traditional Material Handling Manger role.

Ideal Candidate

The candidate should:

  • Have general knowledge of GE 7H combined cycle products
  • Have knowledge of GE project inspections, port resource facilities and customs clearance.
  • They will be very tied in with customer’s clearance agent, however that should not be their primary focus.
  • They need to help manage equipment. Make sure customer is getting the right amount of trucks in per day and manage the relationship with VLI port. Note: VLI is a private port and is needed to have a good relationship with the owners.
Roles and Responsibilities

The work-scope also includes but is not limited to:

  • Equipment and materials tracking, receipt and inspection.
  • Advise the client/contractor with laydown area preparations.
  • Advise the customer on equipment and materials storage and preservation using the GE references and specifications.
  • Conducting overage, shortage, and damages (OS&D) inspections with the client/contractor.
  • Preparing OS&D reports, placing on order, tracking, and receipt of replacement OS&D materials.
  • Reconcile open OS&D replacement material issues with the client/contractor.
  • Preparing equipment and materials shipping status reports.

Job Description

OFS are looking to recruit an experienced engineer to work on in the Munster area to support a customer for the operation and maintenance of a Gas Turbine CHP (Combined Heat & Power) Unit.  

Would suit candidate closely based or available to relocate to a close geographical radius of customers site in Munster as there will be some call out required out of hours.

Standalone position reporting the site manager, providing daily operational support to the Process (Site Owners), scheduling maintenance, working with 3rd party contractors as required. Responding to unscheduled events, managing incidents, reporting to the Contract Manager, developing site improvement plans based on Root Cause analysis and best industry standard. Working with Remote Monitoring Engineering support to improve equipment performance and reliability. Managing and coordinating the 3rd party contractors through the site Permit to Work system and local Lock Out Tag Out procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities

 

 

Accountability Areas and Critical Tasks

  • Fully versed in all aspects of Commissioning and Plant Operations
  • Monitors schedule for compliance and provides recommendations to owner / constructor to help expedite progress
  • Attend daily and weekly progress meetings and provides recommendations to owner / constructor.
  • Capable of troubleshooting issues and providing feedback for resolution to maintain normal operation
  • Attend system walk-a-rounds and provides punch list input
  • Carry out daily checks of machine, check oil levels, drain gearbox, change over filters and replace if necessary
  • Record running logs of online machine utilizing daily log sheet and incorporate to daily report
  • Provide Technical advice with respect to any required Scheduled Maintenance or Unscheduled Maintenance required to be carried out at the Site
  • Plan, lead and execute preventative maintenance (PM, PMV) on Turbines and auxiliary equipment
  • Ensure housekeeping of Turbine Packages is maintained to a good standard (captured as a PM)
  • Plan, lead and execute corrective maintenance (CM) on Turbines and auxiliary equipment
  • Large CM work scopes (usually requiring vendor assistance) to be planned, project will then be handed over to Turbine focal point, ensuring any additional work scaffolding, lifting plans, isolations are completed.  Also point of contact for on-coming work party assisting with permits, jobsite familiarization leading toolbox talks

Requirements 

The preferred candidate should possess a strong skill set, consisting of: 

  • Electrical / Instrumentation background and experience.
  • Experience in accessing PLC programmes control logic, checks and changes
  • Some experience with working around Gas Turbines / Generators – troubleshooting, instrumentation checks, Loop testing, some commissioning experience in the area of Controls and Instrumentation.
  • Good understanding of maintenance planning and practices. The ability and motivation to develop the mechanical skills and experience – borescope inspection, vibration data collection and analysis etc.
  • Strong ability to work on own initiative, report events and develop corrective action plans based on evidence presented. 
  • Good interpersonal skills and communications with supervisors and management in an offshore environment.
  • Motivated and driven individual with strong ability to multi-task and demonstrate flexibility
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to converse fluently across all levels of stakeholders.
  • Customer orientated with ability to interpret relevant information and key issues.

  • Control & Instrumentation Engineering for simple cycle gas turbines and combined cycle gas turbine power plants, compressors and pump stations.

  • Prepare analytic reports regarding machinery and instrumentation circumstances.
