Developed by OFS Engineers, the O4 Approach involves working with or on behalf of the client, using industry proven techniques such as RCM, FMECA and RCA, as appropriate for the installation or operation. The result is a management controlled maintenance service which brings together the Owner, the Operator, the OEM and OFS.

Data Powered Productivity

O4 sets out a high level strategic overview and operating concept for your plant by defining the relationships and interactions between subsystems. We then conduct a safety and integrity analysis to improve efficiencies by setting acceptable thresholds. This helps establish key performance indicators so that we can monitor and maintain at safe levels.

Maintenance Strategy Analysis

The O4 Approach involves working with or on behalf of the client, using industry proven techniques such as RCM, FMECA and RCA, as appropriate for the installation or operation. The result is a management controlled maintenance service which brings together:

The Owner – The Operator  – The OEM – OFS

The Owner: We work with equipment owners to manage their assets and supply highly detailed maintenance engineering processes, plans and procedures which can be fully tailored to specific owner strategies and assets.

The Operator: In situations where the assets are operated by a third party, we ensure the continuity and consistent approach required.

The OEM: The process of managing rotating equipment is broadly similar. This gives us a shared database of historical data and experience which can be difficult for OEMs to capture using only their corporate systems. We work directly with OEMs and actively implement their Technical Service Bulletins and procedures.

The Service Provider (OFS): Our core strength is a team of experienced rotating equipment specialists in numerous sites around the world covering a multitude of gas turbine manufacturers. Based out of Ireland and supported by seven regional offices and a number of joint ventures, OFS has a dedicated crew of field engineers. Their primary focus is on providing the appropriate operational maintenance for the client. This expertise is fully supported by our back office maintenance team which is engaged in the very latest methodologies.

However, the work done here is only of benefit if it forms a strategy from which the other 5 principles can take their lead.

The O4 approach ensures that your maintenance strategy is data driven.

We conduct an Operating Concept and Criticality Safety and Integrity Analysis using  RCM and FMECA techniques to set Strategy Key Performance Indicators.

This review and audit will then inform a management driven strategy to deliver a reliability targets.

These targets are then set in the asset register for benchmarking and ongoing review.

Ensure your Reliability Management Team is in control with a clear Vision of reliability improvement goals.

O4 can assist with leading your team through various initiatives. This will enable the team to successfully manage the business of Reliability to achieve the individual discipline and overall company objectives.

All in the pursuit of cost effective reliability improvement goals within a safety integral environment.

  • Maintenance/Reliability Reviews
  • Equipment Assessment
  • Strategy Development
  • Routine Compliance Audits
  • Analysis & Continuous Improvement

Once we have established our strategic parameters we can begin the process of selecting our technologies and organising our data.

Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

The CMMS is then populated with work order details  to enable a complete assessment of maintenance activities.

For example, appropriate stocking of the required material and spare parts will lead to decreased downtime.

Equipment Register | Preventative Maintenance Inspection Schedule | Work order History | Failure Data

CMMS Services

You can be confident that your chosen CMMS Services are delivering appropriate volumes of meaningful information;

  • System Definition
  • System Selection
  • System Re-alignment
  • Configuration & Population
  • Admin & Data Management

Training & Documentation

At this stage, any knowledge gaps should now be apparent.

Skills Gaps

Based on the type of maintenance required, O4 prompts us to develop a training and documentation plan which is fit for purpose.

Skills gaps which have been uncovered are addressed through a combination of ‘on the job’, ‘one to one’, ‘classroom’ and ‘online training’, whilst gaps and in documentation are updated to bring documentation from an ‘as built’ to ‘as now’ status.

Documentation gaps will be addressed by our Documentation Engineers.

Documentation & Training Services

Educate your workforce/service provider in the knowledge required to perform their duties, competently keeping abreast of standards, procedures and practices related to their tasks and targets;

  • On the Job Training
  • Competency Assessment
  • Nationalisation Training
  • Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation
  • Controls Training
  • PLC & Network Training
  • Documentation Development
  • Training Manuals
  • Interactive Training Documentation

Based on historical data from the CMMS, you will now have a better picture of the current ‘Online condition’ of your assets.

At this stage we set our pre-alarm reports to predict maintenance requirements before problems occur, ongoing monitoring and reporting mechanisms are established to plan manpower and order materials.

This ensure that your maintenance levels are based on good, up to date information into the future.

RM&D Services

On line, real time data capture and display system to enable visual representation of system operating parameters. O4 can help with;

  • System Selection
  • System Configuration
  • Data Point Selection
  • Monitoring/Trending
  • Diagnostics, Prediction & Recommendations
  • Routine Reporting

Scheduled Maintenance

Maintenance is now scheduled as part of the broader strategy with materials ordered so that engineers arrive on site, fully equipped to pre-empt rather than fire fight problems.

Engineers now conduct a condition assessment report to corroborate the RM&D data and also to inform and adjust future planning.

Field Services

To help with your reliability program, thus ensuring success, O4 can assist with any or all of the various positions within the execution phase of the work order cycle to ensure quality, consistent with the requirements of your Vision Statements;

  • Manpower Supply
  • Work Execution •Supervision
  • Tech Support
  • Planning
  • Scheduling & Material Management
  • Quality Control
  • HSE Compliance
  • CMMS Admin/Data Management

Actionable Reports

We now have 3 sources of data which we can triangulate into meaningful and actionable reports.

First we aggregate the data captured in the CMMS, we then collate this against real-time data captured by remote monitoring and diagnostics, this is cross checked against the condition assessments conducted by field services.

Continuous Improvement

These reports do not just sit on a shelf or go on file, we use these three sources to revisit our reliability management strategy, refine our Key Performance Indicators, update our registers, predict maintenance requirements, continuously improve and add efficiencies.

Reporting Services

Analysis cannot be undertaken without adequate reporting processes, data and information. We believe the Continuous Improvement stage to be the most important part of any RCM program. Our experience in this field will help you to produce meaningful;

  • KPI Development & Tracking
  • History Reporting
  • Routine & Specific Reporting
